Babies on the Homefront: Free phone app for military & veteran families
This free app for smart-phones is designed especially for military and veteran families as they navigate the many transitions that are part of serving, including deployment and reintegration, moving, and transitioning back to civilian life. The app makes it easy to select from behavior tips and activities for parents and children, with a special section for parental self-care. Available in both English and Spanish.

Homelessness Intervention Assistance for Veterans (Preble Street): 899-9184 / 1-800-877-5709
Case Management assistance for veterans who are without housing, in danger of eviction, or in need of temporary shelter. Help finding community and state resources to assist the homeless and those in danger of becoming homeless. In addition to finding temporary solutions, they will work with those in crisis over a period of time to help them stabilize their lives. Some eligibility requirements may apply.

A non-profit group connecting veterans who are survivors of sexual assault or other trauma with PTSD resources. Programs offered:
- Operation 22: a program designed to fill the gap between hotline assistance and the medical / psychological help that the veterans may or may not have access to.
- Pets 4 Vets: a program through INTERNITY which will match rescue dogs with veterans
- SASA: Sexual Assault Survivor Advocates. Advocates are recruited and trained to work with survivors as they experience difficulties and barriers in their communities. They work side by side with veterans as they match resources to needs, and help veterans gain their voices again
- SAFR: Sexual Assault First Responders. Many times, survivors wait years to get help. Our board and team at INTERNITY know the proper processes and connections to get help – even if it is years after the assault.

AARP and the US Postal Service have joined together to create this project: “Operation Protect Veterans” to alert elderly veterans and help them protect themselves from scammers trying to defraud them of their pensions and benefits, including bogus offers to turn their benefits into cash, modify VA loans, or provide new military benefits. This website focuses on an often overlooked benefit called Aid and Attendance that is offered by the Veterans Administration and is largely unknown. This benefit allows veterans and spouses of veterans who require the regular attendance of another person to assist in bathing, eating, dressing, undressing, medication dosing, or using the restroom to receive additional monetary benefits. It also includes those who are blind or a patient in a nursing home because of mental or physical incapacity. Assisted living facility care also qualifies.
