Home Delivered Meals through EAAA “Doorstep Dining Program” ($ cost): 1-800-432-7812

For adults over 50 and disabled individuals regardless of income. This program provides 5 home cooked meals (frozen and packaged ready to heat) and delivered to your home.  Each individual meal costs $5, they come in packs of 5 for $25 and include a small loaf of bread and 5 desserts. These meals are lower in sodium and fat, but you can also order diet specific meals such as: heart-friendly, diabetic-friendly, gluten free, renal-friendly, pureed, vegetarian, and more.

Incredible Edible Milbridge (Seasonal)

Free pick-your-own veggie gardens during the growing season (typically July through early October) at the IEM Market Garden at the Red Barn Motel in Milbridge – a 14,000 sq. ft. garden with everything from broccoli to zucchini. Additionally look for IEM raised beds throughout Milbridge with more veggies. These veggies are free to all! Look for the IEM signs. IEM is a program of Women for Healthy Rural Living.

Food Pantries:

Seniors please note that free 30 lb. food boxes are available to seniors over 60.  These boxes include a variety of foods, such as juice, farina, oats, ready-to-eat cereal, rice, pasta, peanut butter, dry beans, canned meat or fish, and canned fruits and vegetables. Contact your local food pantry to see if they participate in the Maine Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) and enroll for your free monthly food box.
