Emergency Housing Supports (Healthy Acadia): 255-3741
Healthy Acadia is raising Safety and Shelter Funds in order to support individuals and provide essential resources to keep as many community members as safe as possible. Some of the ways in which the funds will be utilized include purchases of sleeping bags, tents, and other life saving necessities; emergency shelter, placement in local vacant rentals, transportation to safe spaces, and much needed access to communication devices. Families First Community Center (Ellsworth): 460-3711
Long-term transitional housing & community center for homeless families with children. The center provides residents with supports, training, & education so that when they are ready to leave they will have reliable housing, confidence in their parenting skills, a steady income and savings, and affordable transportation. The home has room for 6 families and are currently taking applications. Call for more info

Housing navigation supports individuals and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness to seek, apply, enter, and maintain permanent housing. The Lamb House (Emergency Shelter Housing):

Temporary crisis shelter for victims of domestic violence. Next Step also offers supportive housing for families who have left an abusive situation and are involved in Next Step’s programs. Families can stay up to two years in supportive housing

The Shaw House—for Teens (Bangor): 941-2874
Emergency shelter for kids ages 10—20. Includes clean bed, clothing, warm food, crisis intervention services, and referrals. The Shaw House also offers a “Day Drop-in program” for kids to have a safe alternative to the streets during the day. Free showers, clothing, food, use of laundry facilities. STEP (Stability Through Engagement Program):
STEP is designed to provide short-term rental assistance for 6-12 months to help individuals and families achieve housing stability. STEP is currently offered in 10 counties including Washington County, and is administered directly through the shelters participating in the Emergency Shelter Homeless Assistance Program.

Housing for homeless veterans who are in recovery. Veterans Career House is shared living with emphasis on establishing employment. The Huot House is single unit apartments with the focus on maintaining recovery.
